 Lewiston: 22 people were killed and more than 60 were injured after an armed man opened fire at different places in the US state of Maine.

 The 40-year-old suspect, identified as Robert Card, first opened fire at a bowling club in the city of Lewiston, killing 10 people, U.S. media reported, citing police officials.  After that, the accused fired indiscriminately at the people present in Barawar Distribution Center.

 More than 60 people were also injured in the firing, some of whom are in serious condition. The police have released the picture of the suspect holding an automatic rifle.  Residents of Lewiston and Auburn have been instructed to stay indoors until further notice.  The vehicle of the accused has also been recovered.

 According to police officials, the reason for the shooting has not yet been revealed. Emergency has been declared in the hospitals of Maine and businesses have been closed.  The search for the assailant is ongoing and the police have appealed to the public for cooperation in this regard.
